It Is A Prelude
It Is A Title started sometime back in High School, obviously this blog opened its proverbial doors in 2006, but I believe the idea started earlier. Basically I enjoy writing, people enjoyed reading my writing, I enjoy video games and I wanted to write about video games. At the time I was more free form in how I wrote entries, more like a journal than anything else really. Around this time I had created a couple other blogs and sites that I believe no longer exist but might. Most of them were places where I could let random bits of fiction that formed in my head flourish, but they all died out fairly quickly. While thinking over what to name my blog about everything I enjoyed I really couldn't think of anything clever, eventually I wound up jokingly considering something along the lines of It Is A Title and shortly there after I found myself actually liking the name and thus I went with it. I doodled a lot at the time as well, so I designed a little mascot to go with it, aptly named It Is A Dude. I had grandiose plans of drawing a banner for each blog entry starring him (I strongly recall wanting to draw him with a fake bear snout mask, with a backpack and a stuffed animal bird hanging out and wanting to write about Banjo-Kazooie, neither of which has yet to happen actually). These plans fell through partially because I'm shit at drawing, but mostly because I didn't have a direction or a focus. So I settled for the standard dark theme you see.
It Is A Title Phase One
From 2006 to 2012 I wrote sparsely, randomly, didn't bother to edit, and didn't expect to ever have an audience really. I've left most of these entries up, but several were pointless. Mostly attempts to motivate myself to write more, which lead to nowhere except to more empty promises to myself.During this time I started a fair view other projects which are all linked on my profile if not on the blog directly. Blogging Morrowind was essentially a Let's Play via written words that has seen more restarts than true progress sadly. One day I hope to actually finish project like this covering Morrowind. In 2011 I started a short lived XNA review blog. XNA somehow stands for Xbox Indie games, at the time my friend and I were enamored with the prospect of finding cheap gems. We knew then that most of the stuff was shit, but we managed to shift through most of it and find some decent stuff. I couldn't find much information on a lot of these games so I decided to take it upon myself to inform the masses, but the enthusiasm only lasted three actual reviews. Looking at it now I really didn't enjoy the format. That same year I posted a very surreal comic I drew of my friend and myself as super heroes of sorts. It is awful in every sense of the word, but you can find it if you are curious enough. Aside from a very brief attempt at reviving Blogging Morrowind in 2012 I stopped using this site altogether.
It Is A Title Phase Two
In late 2014 I randomly felt the need to write about some piece of shit co-op beat 'em up my buddy had brought to my attention. Afterwards I felt a need to keep up with the writing and I managed to, while still infrequent I've managed to post some actual content beyond a meaningless "update" post at least once a month. I'm really quite pleased with that. And so here we are. I've tried to add a bit of format, though preserving the older stuff. 2014 was a new dawn for It Is A Title, and this day will be grand.I try to keep everything organized by a few set categories, Games I Beat, Games You Should (Not) Play, Fangasm, Freemium Perdition, On Trial, WTF Did I Just Read and Comic Shelf being the current main types. Though I have no qualms with creating a new thing, or if something is nagging me enough I'll break free of these categories altogether. And on some occasions I'll plan "events" like the Summer of Screams that focused on anything horror. These will almost always come around on a whim.
It Is An Art
It Is A Me
As for myself, I was born in 1991 and have been playing video games since I was three years old. The one benefit to being raised poor was that I was lagging behind a generation, so even though I was born late I got a chance to experience all the great older games. I actually wasn't even aware the NES was from the 80's until nearly my teen years. I've always had a passion for writing, especially fiction and that expanded to nearly all other forms of media. I just enjoy living somewhere else, the prospect of fantasy worlds entices me and has managed to hold my attention for all of these years.
Currently I'm attending college, with my free time spent writing, gaming and on rare occasions even sleeping.
