Undead Nightmare

I liked it a lot. It was short, and it's an elseworlds title, but I think it represented John's hell. I don't think it's really a what if between when he rescued his family and when he died. I think it takes place after he died. He went back to the moment when his life is finally in order and all the problems he solved come crashing back to Earth.
His primary method of solving problems was murder. When death meant nothing, John became useless. His own personal hell in which he can't save anyone he cares for. Where all of his memories were condensed, brought back, then literally eaten and turned into zombies and throw back at him.

Everyone he ran into comes back for the most part. And he ends up watching almost all of them die, and even kills their twisted form when they rise from the dead.

It probably wasn't meant to, but the writing was kind of spotty, and when I viewed it in this light it's no wonder it was written so basically. His initial fear of it, his trying to fight back even though the odds seem unsurmountable, eventually going to Mexico and embracing religion to a degree. In 1911 a man didn't have much to turn to in a time of need. And God was his last chance at redemption. He embraced him and eventually overcame the obstacle due to being John Marsten.

After you beat it, it kind of ruins this message, but only for the sake of continued gameplay and the" WTF YES!"ness of it.

I'm a huge nerd.

Really great stuff though. Red Dead is one of the better games of the year for sure.
